I haven’t really kept up with this stuff. My original intention was to write thoughts on here whenever I was inspired to do so, and to be inspired.
Anyway, I’m moving to Vancouver on Friday. That’s a good way to start a new year, I think. And so I resolve to try to stay more connected.

October 27: fly to Vancouver. Drink coffee. Eat breakfast. Rehearse with Jake, Jordy & Micah.
October 29: Fort Street Café. Victoria. I love this place. Full band set with James Player, started off the night with some stirring improvised soundscapes.
October 30: Vancouver. Played another full band set at the Media Club and watched Matt Goud play some music. What a fantastic voice.
October 31: Drive. From here on out shows are solo.
November 1: The Slice. Lethbridge was hungover.
November 2: Saskatoon. Met up with Phil & Rich and played at Flint with the ever-entertaining Doug Hoyer.
November 3: Spent time at CFCR. Played at Walker’s with Yukon Blonde. Huge sound, great songs, harmonies that made me shiver.
November 5: Last night in Saskatoon. House concert at Phil’s. I don’t even really know where to start. I had an amazing time. Jeanette Stewart and Tyson McShane played beautiful sets of music. I played to a surreally attentive and intimate room filled with some of my favorite people.
November 6: Edmonton. Played with Wool on Wolves and Doug Hoyer. Wool on Wolves were super-enthusiastic and energetic. Doug played with a full band and spent the end of his set moving around the room playing to different parts of the audience. Awesome.
November 7: Calgary. Weeds Café. Wow. Quiet room full of people listening to every sound. Lorrie Matheson put the show together and played a wonderfully manic set that showcased his brilliantly crafted songs. Extra Happy Ghost !!! were at once delicate and explosive. One of the best bands I’ve ever seen.

The tour has begun! Played in Victoria at the wonderful Fort Street Cafe last night. It was really great to be back there. They’ve got an amazing environment and great, cheap food and beer. Thanks a lot to Benji for having us.
Tonight is the last full band show, it’ll be at the Media Club and is an early show. The doors open at 7pm. Then it’s off to Lethbridge for the first solo show on the 1st.

Headed home. Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows. Highlights for me are definitely playing the Fort Street Cafe in Victoria and floating down the canal in Penticton.

Wow. Micah and Jake killed me at disc golf today.
Kispiox next, then Prince George – those shows will be without Jordy, he’ll meet us in Penticton for the rest of the dates.

Jordy and I ended up demoing some song ideas. We were both charmed by a song called When I Woke Up so I decided to post it on MySpace, Facebook & Radio 3

I spent the last week in Vancouver writing with Jordy. We’ll be playing some of the songs with the full band in Dawson City. Speaking of which, the lineup of Crash the Car for that show will be:
Jordy Walker – electronics, vocals
Micah Smith – bass, vocals
Jake Jenne – drums, vocals
Jared Ozuk – Rhodes, vocals
Fiona Solon – vocals
I’m stoked.
